Glen Svensson

Glen Svensson is a graduate of the 6 year FPMT Master Program at Lama Tsongkhapa Institute and one of the most appreciated western teachers within FPMT.

Glen will lead weekend teachings on the topic of Mindfulness and Emotional Balance, the cultivation of which are two essential components in the pursuit of genuine happiness and inner well-being.

During the Friday evening session will introduce these two topics of mindfulness and emotional balance. And also briefly discuss how to effectively cultivate them as part of an overall strategy for achieving genuine happiness.

Then on Saturday and Sunday we will look at both of these two topics in more detail together with learning and practicing various meditations associated with these two topics. In particular we will learn and practice mindfulness meditations using the breath, focussing on the mind and resting in awareness. And with regard to emotional balance we will learn how to identify and effectively deal with imbalances such as anger and attachment. And how to effectively cultivate positive qualities such as loving-kindness and compassion.

And we will not only be emphasizing the learning of these skills but also how to integrate them into our daily life so that they may form an effective basis for our pursuit of genuine happiness and well-being.

About Glen Svensson

Glen is a graduate of FPMT’s Masters Program, who has completed the philosophical studies and the lam-rim retreat.

Glen Svensson was born and bred in Ipswich (Australia). Attained a BSc in IT at the University of Queensland. After 4 years working in Brisbane, spent the next 8 years working and travelling around the world. Having ‘bumped’ into Buddhism during my travels (I read a book about Buddhism and it seemed so logical and many things resonated extremely well with my innate beliefs), I attended my first Dharma teaching in Dharamsala, India in 1995 and after completing the 2 following Kopan November courses in Kathmandu, Nepal, went on to enrol in the Masters Program at the Istituto Lama Tzong Khapa in Tuscany, Italy in 1998. Eight years later (having completed the Masters Program along with an 8 month retreat at Oseling in Spain) I’m back in Australia and looking forward to helping others in their Dharma studies and practice.
